U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, who demonstrates financial need.
Varies, based on wage and hours worked. May not exceed need when combined with other aid.
Perkins Loan
U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, who demonstrates financial need.
Up to $4,000 per year for undergraduate study and $5,000 per year for graduate study. (Fixed interest rate)
Subsidized Stafford Loan
U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, who demonstrates financial need.
Up to $2,625 for first year of undergraduate study, $3,500 for second year of undergraduate study, $5,500 per year for third and subsequent years of undergraduate study, and $8,500 for graduate study. (Variable interest rate)
Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student.
Same as Stafford Loan amounts, minus any subsidized Stafford Loans received. (Variable interest rate)
Additional Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen who is a financially independent student, a graduate student, or a dependent student who a financial aid administrator determines is eligible.
Up to $4,000 per year for first two years of undergraduate study, up to $5,000 per year for third and subsequent years of undergraduate study, and up to $10,000 for graduate study. (Variable interest rate)
Parent Loans For Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
Parent or stepparent of dependent, undergraduate student.
Up to total cost of attendance minus all other financial assistance. (Variable interest rate)
